We built Svair because we believe in long-lived, well-made software. We are not building to be acquired. We are not chasing growth at the expense of stability. We intend to be here for a long time.

But we also know that circumstances can change, and you deserve to know what happens to your data if they do.

Your data is always yours

Every Svair product includes a full data export in an open, portable format. You can export at any time — no support request, no waiting, no fee. Your documents, records, messages, and any content you created belongs to you. You should always be able to take it with you.

We design our export formats to be readable without Svair. A plain text export of a writing document is a plain text file. A CSV export of a financial record is a CSV file. You will not need us to make sense of your own work.

If Svair ever closes

In the event that Svair is unable to continue operating, we commit to the following:

• We will give users at least ninety days notice before shutting down services
• We will provide a clear, accessible way to export all data during that period
• We will not sell your data to a third party as part of any wind-down
• We will refund the unused portion of annual subscriptions
• We will publish the source code of our core products under an open licence where legally permissible, so that the software can continue to be used and maintained

If Svair is acquired

If Svair is ever acquired by another company, we will notify you before the acquisition closes and you will have the option to export your data and cancel your subscription with a full refund of any remaining prepaid period.

We will not transfer your data to the acquiring company without your explicit consent.

Our commitment in plain terms

You trusted us with your work. We take that seriously. Whatever happens to Svair as a company, we will not leave you without your data, without notice, or without options.
